Sleeping Bag Review
Looking for a sleeping bag? Confused about all of the brand names? REI, Coleman, Northface, Kelty, Sierra Designs, or your department store brand? There are some things that you need to consider. First make a list of your priorities. Your list may be like mine.
- Warmth
- Size
- Weight
- Family size
Do not be limited to just these priorities. These are just mine. Lets face it though warmth is the most important! I HATE being cold. so I went with the zero degree bag. If your too warm, unzip it. If you were too cold though and you bought a less degree bag, you are out of luck! Go for the coldest you can buy!
If your a backpacker or a small car owner, you have to think about the size and weight of your bag. Of course this will effect your choices about the warmth of your bag as well. You might have a warmer bag, but if you have to carry an extra five pounds 20 miles... You might want to start weighing your choices.
Now if your going on family camp trips, bigger maybe better. You might want to get the kind of sleeping bag that zip together to make giant bags for the family. The mummy bags are warmer, but may not work for you with your family.
Never be cold should be your number one goal! If you have to you can purchase the insert liners that increase the warmth of your bag. Good luck and happy camping!
