Need a vacation in Maui, Hawaii? Rent a Condo.
|
Time to unwind? Need to get away for week? Well my wife and I went to Maui, and loved it. The best part about the trip was that we were on our own time. We rented a condo on the water, instead of staying in a hotel. This saved us a lot of money. We simplified our meals and just went to the local grocery stores. We bought fresh fish most of the nights! For breakfast, we would cook each other meals, and eat on the back deck with a great view of the ocean.

View of the sunset near Cheeseburger in Paradise. Its definitely a tourist trap. But we had to go check it out.

Dont get me wrong, we also dined in some great restaurants. Sushi, and any Hawaiian cuisine places we could find. It wasn't easy though, the view from our condo was priceless.

On the way up to Haleakala there are beautiful purple flowering trees that line the sides of the street.
|
Even around the island you find flowers in full bloom in the middle of winter.

Some of the best parts of Hawaii is just the scenery. We drove up to the top of Haleakala (the islands non-active volcano) for a beautiful view of the island. We could even see some of the other islands out in the distance.

And of course, don't forget about the tropical animal life. Birds, lizards, (we always found a couple geckos in our condo every morning) fish, ( snorkeling is a must!) its all out there.

If you do decide on getting a condo, make sure there is a BBQ to use! When you go to the store, don't be surprised if the butcher at Vons gives you a taste of raw tuna, I never saw that at home. Buy a pineapple, Cut it like a cylinder, then slice them about ¾ of an inch think. Cook them on the BBQ just like you would a hamburger.
